The overall objective of the OUHSC Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship Training Program is to prepare trainees for board certification and successful careers in academic Pediatric Endocrinology. This fellowship training program seeks to prepare each trainee for a career in either academic medicine or clinical practice by including the necessary tools to conduct relevant, fundable research as well as the skills necessary to practice state-of-the-art clinical care. We pride ourselves on the depth of our clinical curriculum. Fellows will be trained to master all six of the established, ACGME core competencies through the teaching, modeling and promoting of commitment to service, personal integrity, clinical competency, effective interpersonal communication, collaboration with patients, parents and other health care professionals and the pursuit of life-long learning and scholarly activities - to develop a solid foundation in these principles and to provide effective medical care to their patients within any and all future health care delivery systems. Year 1 of our program focuses on clinical training with emphases on mentored inpatient coverage and outpatient clinics. Years 2 and 3 of our training program focus on mentored research with continued involvement in continuity clinics.
