Application Information

Who can apply?

Candidates are expected to graduate or have graduated from an accredited residency program, be board eligible or certified, and have a strong track record of academic excellence. Applicants from disciplines who are interested in health services or primary care research in children are also eligible but must have completed a doctoral degree. Clinical time will be limited to no more than 30% of the total with most of that involving teaching or precepting medical students, residents, or other professions in clinical settings.

If you are a foreign national currently in the US on a valid visa status, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center does accept Visa applicants on a case by case basis. If you are on a Visa and considering applying please contact the program immediately so that we can start our process. Members from minority groups that are underrepresented are particularly encouraged to apply. An underlying assumption of the training program is that the entering fellows are clinically competent in their specialty.

  • Letter writers should submit their letters of recommendation along with a confidential reference report via email to Paul Darden, MD, Academic Generalist Training Program Director.
