Applying

Ph.D. Program in Physiology
Men and women interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in physiology should apply for fall semester admission by December 31. A completed application can be submitted directly to the Department of Physiology or through the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences. A bachelor's degree with a minimum G.P.A of 3.0 and appropriate completion of undergraduate course work is required for admission to the Ph.D. program. Applicants must submit combined scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examinations and TOEFL for foreign applicants, three letters of recommendation and a statement of career goals.  For direct admission, applicants need to have sponsorship of a Physiology graduate faculty.

M.D./Ph.D. Program in Physiology
Students must apply directly to the M.D./Ph.D program administered by the College of Medicine, or they first must be accepted in a medical school, then apply for the Ph.D. program as described above.

M.S. Program in Physiology
The application deadline for the M.S. program in Physiology is April 1. The department requires submission of combined scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examinations; (Verbal and Math - typically 158-160 and an Analytic Writing score of 4 or better), three letters of recommendation and a personal written statement from the applicant.  A favorable faculty vote is required.
