Education & Training

The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Department of Urology strives to provide our residents and fellows comprehensive urology training to prepare them for a career in academic medicine or private practice. There is a focus on resident autonomy with emphasis on resident driven decision making.

We offer very robust clinical experiences with general and fellowship trained urologists that includes general adult urology, pediatric urology, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, male reconstructive urologic surgery, endourology, minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic urologic surgery, urologic oncology and infertility. There is a robust program in robotic surgery training as we perform numerous robotic procedures including: prostatectomy, adrenalectomy nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, retroperitoneal partial nephrectomy, cystectomy with intracorporeal urinary diversion, sacrocolopexy, ureteral reimplantation, and inguinal lymphadenectomy.
Our training hospitals (adult, children's, and VA hospitals) and clinics are located on our central campus with one private hospital rotation in north Oklahoma City.

In addition to clinical experiences, we also offer significant opportunities for urologic research in basic science and clinical research.
