Dr. Teague has been a faculty member with the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine since 1994, where he was soon appointed as vice-chairman of the department.  He accepted the Interim Chair position in 2005 and, after a search process, was named the Don H O'Donoghue Professor and Chair in 2007.  He continues to serve in this position currently.

Dr. Teague earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX in 1988.  He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Medicine in 1993.  He continued his specialized education, completing Fellowship training in Orthopedic Traumatology at Harborview Medical Center at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA in 1994.

"Being a part of the OU Ortho Team is my highest honor.  Working with partners and superb trainees who continue to take their professional responsibilities quite seriously while enjoying the work and the team is indeed a privilege."

Dr. Teague’s extensive involvement in trauma care and education nationally led to a six-year appointment to the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT). He served two disaster relief tours on the US Naval Ship Comfort in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake. He was president of the Orthopaedic Trauma Assocation (OTA) in 2018-2019, a culmination of decades of contributions to that international 2,500-member organization dedicated to the advancement of trauma care and trauma surgeons.

Dr. Teague possesses below average skills as a golfer and tennis player. He pretends to enjoy running for exercise. He is mighty proud of his PhD microbiologist wife and their two adult sons.
