Dr. Shields is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Shields is a licensed clinical psychologist whose primary clinical and research interests include the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based interventions for children who have experienced maltreatment as well as children who exhibit problematic sexual behavior. She provides national training and consultation in the University of Oklahoma Problematic Sexual Behavior – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT) school-age model. Further, Dr. Shields is a nationally certified therapist in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based treatment for young children with disruptive behavior disorders.
