Residency Faculty

Thomas Owens, MD, CAQ-Sports Medicine
Family and Preventive Medicine

Thomas Owens, MD, CAQ-Sports Medicine

Associate Professor

Thomas was born in Minnesota, raised in Oklahoma, but proudly calls himself a mutt with family the world over. He graduated cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering (Pre-Med) with Minors in Chemistry and International Studies, followed up by his medical degree, residency, and fellowship through OU’s Health Sciences Center here in OKC. He considers himself exceptionally honored and privileged to have been welcomed back as faculty. He has a wide array of professional interests which include (but are certainly not limited to) sports and rehabilitative medicine, exercise/weight management, non-operative procedures, point-of-care ultrasound, nonoperative obstetrics, and full-scope primary care.

With his free time, he loves playing/watching virtually all sports (esp. soccer, sand volleyball, and basketball — avid Thunder fandom since 2008’s 23-win season), board games, movie nights, the culinary arts, and spending time in any capacity with his wonderful wife, daughter, two spoiled pups, and other tightly-knit friends and family.
