Ira was born in Ventura, CA and grew up in Oxford and Paris for a few years before returning to California. He attended Midland Highschool, in Los Olivos, CA - a rustic boarding school on a 3000 acre working ranch where the entire ranch and farm is run and maintained by students and faculty. His interest in pediatric neurosurgery saw its infancy in college, where he studied biology and neuroscience. This dream was cultivated by his experience as a clinical research associate in Neurosurgery at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He went on to complete his medical training at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM), and is currently completing his neurosurgery residency at Riverside University Health System (RUHS) in southern California.  

In his free time he enjoys cooking, outdoor activities and traveling with his fiance - Kessler, a renowned visual effects producer, and his Australian shepherd "Richter aka Rikki". He and Kessler are very excited to escape Los Angeles, explore OKC and attend their first Sooners game, and we are privileged to take a small part in Ira's dream of becoming a pediatric neurosurgeon!
