Ajay P. Nadig, MD, FACP
Assistant Professor and Program Director, Department of Medicine
Dr. Nadig is the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Oklahoma City. Dr. Nadig completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He earned his M.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 2015 and subsequently completed residency at the same institution in 2018 before joining faculty. Since that time, Dr. Nadig has worked closely with the residency program initially as a core faculty member, Associate Program Director in 2020, and now as the Program Director in 2022.
Dr. Nadig is an advocate for medical education and is engaged in both medical student and resident education. He provides multiple workshops during the third-year medical student Internal Medicine Clerkship as well as teaching at the bedside. Dr. Nadig remains active in resident education attending on inpatient medicine teams at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center and supervising in the resident longitudinal clinic. He maintains an outpatient private practice at OU Health Physicians. Dr. Nadig also serves in various capacities on several hospital committees.
Dr. Nadig lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, son, and 2 dogs. His interests outside of medicine include traveling, reading (science fiction and fantasy), astronomy, history, watching TV series and movies, and experiencing foods from different cultures. Dr. Nadig is an avid sports enthusiast who appreciates all sports but closely follows college and NFL football, NBA basketball, and tennis. He is a fan of OU Sooner football and the OKC Thunder which he enjoys watching with family and friends.
