Urology 1
The Urology 1 all pre-urology training occurs with both the urology service and general surgery services with rotations occurring at the OU Health Medical Center, Children’s Hospital, and Veterans Affairs Hospital. We have 6 months of Urology training during the intern year to foster early introduction to both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Urology 2
The Urology 2 resident develops skills in outpatient procedures such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsy, and vasectomy. He/she also gains proficiency in minor surgical and endourologic procedures on their respective rotation. Emphasis on inpatient and outpatient management is continued with increasing responsibility.

Urology 3
The Urology 3 resident gains early robotic and laparoscopic surgery skills, exposure to major open surgical cases, and advanced endourologic skills. He/she also gains in-depth exposure to pediatric urology in the clinic and inpatient/outpatient surgical setting.

Urology 4
The Urology 4 develops leadership roles as the acting chief of the Children's Hospital. He/she has increasing levels of autonomy with general urology, infertility, and male/female reconstructive surgery.

Urology 5 (Chief Year)
The Urology 5 (Chief Year) further develops leadership roles as the acting chief of all adult urology services & VA Hospital. He/she has increasing levels of autonomy with major open, laparoscopic, and robotic cases as well as complete oversight of the resident-run Urology clinic.
