Interviews for the M.D./Ph.D. Program are based on the competitiveness of the current applicant pool. The routine average GPA and MCAT of those accepted into the M.D./Ph.D. Program are 3.8 and 510, respectively.
Applicants will be offered interviews based on an initial screening of meeting program standards that include academic potential, intellectual curiosity, and evidence of research experience.
M.D./Ph.D. interviews begin in mid-November and may be paired with the M.D. interviews. The M.D./Ph.D. interviews occur in the fall prior to the year of matriculation. The M.D./Ph.D. interview will focus on the student's research interests by arranging laboratory visits in areas of interest. The day includes tours of campus, activities with existing participants and in-depth laboratory meetings with potential programs and/or mentors.
Interviews are conducted by two or three members of the Advisory Council who submit narrative comments and a recommendation of acceptance or refusal. A student may also receive a deferral for further evaluation.
We accept, on average, 2 students per year into the M.D./Ph.D. program.
