The newly established Department of Oncology Science, College of Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center invites applications for ranks of Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor positions. The faculty members will also be affiliated with the NCI-designated OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center and will have access to exceptional resources and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations. Individuals with specialty in areas of cancer metabolism, metabolic imaging, cancer signaling, epigenomics, tumor immunology, health disparities, health /lifestyle behaviors and interventions, cachexia, chemical biology, or bioinformatics are encouraged to apply. Selected candidate(s) will be provided competitive salaries and start-up support for a period of 5 years. Salary to be commensurate with experience.
Eligibility:
Individuals working in cancer metabolism, metabolic imaging, cancer signaling, epigenomics, tumor immunology, health disparities, cachexia, chemical biology, or bioinformatics areas of cancer research• Must hold a PhD or MD or MD/PhD degree in any area of biomedical sciences • Demonstrate strong publication record related to cancer in high impact journals• Candidates with funding from NCI, DoD, or ACS are highly encouraged to apply• Possess a strong scientific research program and able to manage independent research
Salary and Start-up Funding:
• The selection committee with recommend the salary for the individual based on the salary range set by the University’s standard.
• Start-up funds amount will be based on recommendation from the selection committee and their review of planned research and goals.

Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Kamiya Mehla lab at the newly established Department of Oncology Science and the NCI-designated OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center is recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join on an NIH/NCI-funded study on cancer immunotherapy and immunometabolism. The postdoctoral researcher will be working in a multidisciplinary research group to study novel aspects of immunometabolism, tumor-immune cell interactions at the primary tumor and systemic sites in pancreatic cancer. Our state-of-the art research program utilizes molecular biology and immunology techniques along with multi-omics approaches, including sc-RNA-seq, bulk RNAseq, epigenomics, metabolomics, proteomics, CRISPR screens and genetically engineered mouse models and organoid models of pancreatic cancer.
The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D or M.D./Ph.D in the field of Immunology/ Molecular Biology/ Cancer Biology/ Biochemistry or a related field with expertise in cell-based assays, and/or animal studies. The Department of Oncology Science is now hiring for a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. This position This position will support the Primary Investigator by assisting with the planning, designing, and implementing research experiments according to established protocols to assure high-quality scientific results in support of project goals.
Duties:
- Performs highly complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, or bacteriological tests on patient samples.
- Performs specialized analytic and diagnostic tests.
- May make cultures of body fluids and tissue samples to determine the presence of bacteria, fungi, parasites, or other micro-organisms.
- May analyze samples for chemical content or a chemical reaction and determine concentrations of compounds such as blood glucose and cholesterol levels.
- May analyze samples for genetic features. May be responsible for typing and cross-matching blood samples for transfusions or solid organs.
- Maintains records, reports results and performs quality control processes.
- Performs highly complex chemical, biological, hematological, immunologic, microscopic, or bacteriological tests to obtain data relative to clinical issues and diagnostic treatments.
- May perform experimental testing procedures for research purposes.
- Evaluates test results, develops and modifies procedures, and establishes and monitors programs to ensure accuracy.
