Lloyd Rader Award for Outstanding Resident Physicians
Established in 1978 by the Lloyd and Ruth Rader family, the Lloyd Rader Award is named in honor of Lloyd Rader, who served as director of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services from 1951 to 1982. It recognizes residents who demonstrate exceptional promise for a career in either medical research or clinical practice. The annual award includes a $500 cash prize and is presented to one or two residents who exemplify excellence and integrity in their field.

Award Details
- Presented at: GMEC Meeting in the Spring
- Includes: A monetary scholarship prize
- Purpose: To recognize a graduating resident or fellow who exemplifies excellence and potential in research or clinical medicine
Eligibility Criteria
Nominees must:
- Be recognized by faculty as showing exceptional promise in research or clinical medicine
- Be a graduating resident or fellow in an ACGME-accredited program sponsored by the OU College of Medicine
- Be in good standing with their program, the College, and its major affiliated institutions
Nomination Process
Each program may submit one nominee. To nominate a candidate, please submit the following:
- Completed Nomination Form
Signed by both the Department Chair and Program Director, detailing the nominee’s qualifications and reasons for nomination
- Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Professional Photo
All materials must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Medical Education in either paper or electronic format by the stated deadline.
