The Department of Urology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is dedicated to the advancement of our learners and trainees, continued interest in the career, and personal development of our alumni, and the well-being of the patients we treat through the OU Health Systems-affiliated hospitals and care sites. Our commitment to education and training is the cornerstone of our program. Our goal is to provide learners and trainees with all the tools necessary to prepare them for a career in subspecialty of Urology. To accomplish this, we have and will continue to inves in resources, programs, and mentoring that allows for those we train to become the future urologic caregivers and surgeons of the future. We are proud to graduate exceptionally well-rounded Urologists that are compassionate, competent, and technically excellent. We hope to instill within them a passion for life-long learning. Through this training, we hope to provide them with the skills that will enable them to shape the practice of medicine and enhance the quality of care for years to come.
Expert Faculty
Through our affiliated hospitals and care sites, the Urology faculty members committed to providing the best possible care to our patients and their families. We have recruited nationally recognized surgeons and leaders in many urologic specialties. In fact, our faculty members come from some of the finest training centers in the world.
In addition to general urology, we offer a breadth of subspecialty training. To date, we have the highest concentration of fellowship trained Urologist in the region. We offer expertise in both Adult and Pediatric Urology. Within Adult Urology, we have expertise in Men’s Health, Women’s Health including Female Pelvic and Reconstructive Surgery, Male Infertility, Erectile Dysfunction, Renal Transplantation, Stone Disease, and Urologic Oncology. Every member of our team is a respected leader in their field of expertise, combining excellent training, credentials, and experience with superb clinical skills. Finally, many of our doctors are ranked amongst the best by U.S. News and World Report, Castle Connelly America’s Top Doctors, the Bes Doctors in America, and Oklahoma Magazines Best Doctors in Oklahoma. The Department is regularly ranked in U.S. News and World Report’s Top Hospitals.
Commitment to Clinical Excellence
Our practice incorporate a multidisciplinary approach, often partnering with providers from other disciples to allow for the most comprehensive and collaborative approach to patient conditions and disease states. They work closely with pediatricians, medical oncologists, radiation therapists and gynecologic surgeons to provide comprehensive care. The special services we offer range from surgery for congenital conditions to surgery for advanced urologic tumors to reconstructive as well as minimally invasive procedures. We also offer the latest in robotic-assisted surgery, which also offers many benefits to patients. Every member of our team is a respected leader in their field of expertise, combining excellent credentials and experience with superb clinical skills.
Philanthropy & Grateful Patients
Patient care is the reason we pursued a career in medicine. Fortunately, most of our patients remain under our care long after we have addressed their immediate presenting condition. We strive to foster positive and lasting patient-physician relationships in our department. Often the catalysts for our advances in the urologic field, the department appreciates the contributions made by patients and their families at our academic medical center.
