Greetings
and welcome to our residency program! Here at Oklahoma Children's Hospital at
the University of Oklahoma Health in Oklahoma City, we combine
world-class facilities, faculty, staff and residents with the friendliness and
warmth Oklahoma is known for. We infuse this culture throughout
our residency program to develop outstanding pediatricians
individually in a family atmosphere.
We
consider it vitally important to develop each resident’s career based on their
unique strengths and desires. Just as people are different, we believe each
residency experience within a program should be different based on
an individual’s talents and professional
interests. Every graduate from our program has obtained the clinical skills
necessary to be an outstanding general pediatrician, but what sets us apart is
our attention to passion. Your passion.
No
matter where your interests lie within pediatrics: advocacy, rural health,
research, medical education,
or
any of the pediatric sub-
specialties – we have the combined faculty, program
leadership and interdisciplinary teams to nurture, focus and develop that
passion into career goals and accomplishments
in residency, which places
you ahead of the crowd as a residency graduate. We personally tailor your
curriculum in residency to reflect your interests and best prepare you for your
unique career path upon graduation.
It is more important than
ever to be surrounded a trusted, supportive network of friends and colleagues
in residency. Even though we will be separated by screens and perhaps thousands
of miles in interview
s, we are reassured by several
years of success. We get to know our applicants, and they get to know us during recruitment. We approach the recruitment process with transparency, authenticity, and a healthy dash of humor, doing everything we
can to put you at ease so we can get to know you and
let you see who we are, what we value, and what sets us
apart.
Whether
it's our X+Y Curriculum, our Coaching Program, or our New Parent Elective, we
strive in all curricular planning to maximize both your learning
and your
well-being. We may be biased, but we think we have the best of all worlds
here in Oklahoma, and invite you come in and browse our website or contact us
for additional information. We look forward to meeting you...virtually!
