Mission and Aims

Mission

The mission of the Clinical Medical Physics Residency Program at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus is to cultivate highly skilled, independent therapeutic medical physicists through comprehensive, in-depth clinical training and advanced technology exposure. We are committed to preparing residents for certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent board, enabling them to practice independently, lead innovation, and promote the highest degree of safety and excellence in radiation oncology patient care.

Aims

It is our aim to:
  • provide rigorous clinical training necessary for graduates to contribute to quality patient care and ensure complete preparedness for certification.
  • develop comprehensive technical knowledge, skills, and safety competency required for the safe and effective application of technologies, protocols, and practices used in medical physics.
  • develop the professional attributes and ethical conduct required to function effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinical environment.
  • instill the ability to solve clinical problems, deploy new clinical strategies, and critically evaluate research and scholarship in medical physics.
