Welcome
The University of Oklahoma Epilepsy Fellowship is a one‑year ACGME accredited advanced subspecialty training program within the Department of Neurology at OU Health. The fellowship is designed to provide comprehensive, mentored training in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy across the lifespan. Fellows may pursue focused training in adult epilepsy, pediatric epilepsy, or a combined track, depending on prior residency training and long‑term career goals.
The program emphasizes thoughtful clinical decision‑making, progressive independence, and close faculty mentorship within a collaborative academic environment serving a diverse regional population.
Program Curriculum
The fellowship curriculum is structured to provide balanced exposure to inpatient and outpatient epilepsy care, EEG interpretation, and surgical epilepsy evaluation, while allowing flexibility to meet individual educational objectives.
Core curriculum elements include:
- Inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) experience
- EEG interpretation – including routine and long-term monitoring studies
- Longitudinal outpatient epilepsy clinics (adult and/or pediatric)
- Surgical epilepsy evaluation and multidisciplinary conferences
- Teaching and scholarly activity
The curriculum is adapted throughout the fellowship year based on clinical interests, prior experience, and anticipated career direction.
