Residency Program

Mission

It is the mission of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at the University of Oklahoma to provide an educational environment that combines structured learning opportunities and graduated clinical responsibilities to promote growth and increasing autonomy as an obstetrician, gynecologic surgeon, and ambulatory provider.  We are committed to providing excellence in healthcare to the women of the state of Oklahoma regardless of ability to pay.

Aims

  • To provide an educational environment that guides our residents in gaining knowledge, confidence, and competency for the independent practice of ob/gyn or the pursuit of a subspecialty discipline of choice

  • To instill life-long commitment to learning in promotion of women's healthcare

  • To provide opportunities for residents to develop ethical, professional, and leadership skills

  • To encourage a desire to assist in the training of medical students and residents

  • To nurture a work ethic and spirit of mutual respect and camaraderie among all colleagues in the healthcare team
