Professor
Dr. Karl Hansen is Senior Associate Dean and Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Dr. Hansen’s research has centered on advancing our understanding of reproductive aging in women and on improving outcomes for couples with infertility. He has served as a principal investigator (PI) in the NICHD’s multicenter Reproductive Medicine Network, having participated as a lead contributor for multiple clinical investigations. He also served as a PI of the Consortia for Infertility and Reproductive Medicine Clinical Trials Program sponsored by the NICHD, and he has served on multiple NIH study sections.
As an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine since 1998, Dr. Hansen served three terms on the Practice Committee and as a member of the ASRM Research Integrity Committee. He has also contributed to the ASRM Research Task Force and Steering Committee. Dr. Hansen has served as an Associate Editor for F&S Reviews and provides ad hoc reviews for numerous leading journals in reproductive medicine. In addition to his work through ASRM, Dr. Hansen is a dedicated advocate for quality and education in reproductive medicine. He has served on the SART Quality Assurance Committee, as an ABOG subspecialty examiner in REI since 2017, and as a lecturer at the SREI Fellows Retreat. Previously he served as the Academic Director at Large on the SREI Board and currently as an at Large Director for the ASRM Board of Directors.
