Clinical/Research Interests:
In our laboratory, we are currently investigating how radiation therapy modulates oncogenic and immune signaling that affects breast cancer and its tumor microenvironment (TEM) specifically in highly aggressive and metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). To explore the radiation impact on breast cancer tumor biology, we are using breast cancer tumor cell lines, animal models, and patient-derived tumor and blood samples. We will examine and analyze the potential molecular mechanisms that cause radio-resistance in breast cancer and design an effective adjuvant therapeutic approach to control these cancers.
