​Emergency and Trauma Imaging Faculty

Since the fall of 2001, The Trauma One Center at OU Medical Center has been the only Level One Trauma Center in Oklahoma as verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), the highest national rating a trauma center can receive. Our ER and Trauma department is involved in providing the highest level of surgical care to trauma patients working with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and health care staff as well as specialists and specialized, state-of-the-art equipment capable of treating the most severe and critical injuries, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Division of ER and Trauma Imaging covers all aspects of emergent and urgent imaging including Plain Films (x-ray), Fluoroscopy, Computed Tomography (CT) scans, Magnetic Resonance (MRI), and advanced Ultrasound. The breadth of experience among the faculty is reflected in the wide range of academic pursuits enjoyed by the division. The faculty are actively involved in providing top-notch, coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to the evaluation and treatment of patients.

Dr. Mukta Agrawal, MD is a board-certified radiologist, medical director of Adult Cardiovascular CT/MRI service line at OU Health and assistant professor of Radiology at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine.

Dr. Agrawal received her training in advanced cardiovascular imaging from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School and joined OU Health and OU College of Medicine in 2018. She started and successfully led the first adult Cardiac CT/MRI imaging program in the city at OU Health. She specializes in cardiac CT and cardiac MRI imaging for ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies. Her main interest is structural heart diseases, valvular heart diseases, myocarditis, amyloidosis, and sarcoidosis. Dr. Agrawal also specializes in reading Trauma and Body CT and MRI.

Dr. Agrawal started and has led cardiac imaging training program for radiology residents and cardiology fellows at OU, dedicated to train future leaders in this field. She is well published and nationally recognized. Dr. Agrawal has won several honors and awards in her time as a trainee and has served as a mentor for numerous medical students, residents, and fellows.
