The goal of the Students Today / Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) program is to develop stronger relations between prospective students, current students, and alumni, which will serve to create a stronger community between future, present, and past College of Medicine members. The mission of this organization is to support the idea that students are “alumni” at matriculation in an attempt to promote and foster a strong bond between the students, administration, Medical Alumni Association, and the Office of Development with the University of Oklahoma. STAT members shall also serve as liaisons to alumni, as well as ambassadors for the college to prospective students.
STAT members serve in various capacities throughout the year. On interview days, STAT members host prospective students in breakout rooms to present information about the College of Medicine, answer questions about student life, and give general support to the interviewees on a stressful day. STAT members give tours of campus on specific occasions as well, encouraging prospective students to visit campus for a better understanding of why they love OU so much! In addition, STAT members work with the Admissions Department and Alumni Office on various events throughout the year and are able to serve as ambassadors for the College of Medicine to both future students and alumni.
Annually, STAT members volunteer to host students at Alumni Day in the fall, Preview Day in the spring and Mod Reveal in the summer in addition to volunteering at each Interview and Tour Day provided by the college.
As a student organization, STAT is run by an executive team of elected Co-Presidents, Co-Vice Presidents, Co-Interview Day Chairs, Tour Coordinator, Treasurer, Secretary, and Student Council Representatives.
If you wish to contact the executive team, please email admission@ouhsc.edu and they will contact a member on your behalf.
