Sherwin finished his undergraduate studies at UCLA where he majored in French and moved across town to USC to pursue his medical training where he graduated with AOA and Gold Humanism honors. During medical school he also took a brief hiatus to complete his MPH at Harvard University with a focus in biostatistics and epidemiology. During his research year as a resident, he worked in Dr. Stefano Tarantini's lab where he used novel imaging techniques to assess in vivo vascular remodeling in a rodent model of GBM. He has presented his research at local, regional, national, and international conferences and has won multiple awards for his projects. He hopes to pursue a clinical fellowship in neuro-oncology after graduating followed by a career in academic neurosurgery. Outside of neurosurgery he is interested in global health/health-systems strengthening, politics/global affairs, cooking, traveling, and visiting family in California.
