Learn from experts. Care for complex patients. Advance women's health.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a rigorous, comprehensive training environment for physicians pursuing careers in general obstetrics and gynecology and subspecialty practice. The OB-GYN residency has expanded to seven residents per year and provides broad clinical exposure across academic, community and rural practice settings, with opportunities to train at OU Health and through partnerships throughout Oklahoma. Residents gain experience across general obstetrics and gynecology and the department's subspecialty programs while participating in simulation, surgical education, research and mentorship.

For physicians pursuing subspecialty training, the department offers fellowships in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Gynecologic Oncology and Urogynecology. The programs provide advanced clinical and surgical training alongside opportunities for research, teaching and academic development. OU's MFM, REI and Urogynecology programs are each the only programs of their kind in Oklahoma, with the REI and MFM fellowships reporting 100% first-attempt board pass rates and the Urogynecology fellowship having graduated 13 fellows since its founding in 2009.

The University of Oklahoma Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program provides comprehensive training designed to prepare residents for a wide range of careers in obstetrics and gynecology. As part of Oklahoma’s statewide referral center, residents care for patients with diverse and complex needs while developing clinical skills across a variety of settings. Experiences in rural, community, governmental and private practice environments provide a broader understanding of health care delivery and help residents identify the practice setting and career path that best fits their goals, whether in clinical practice, academic medicine or fellowship training.
