Welcome to the Hematology Oncology Fellowship Program at OU Heath Stephenson Cancer Center, the state's only National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Center. We're part of a robust healthcare system - OU Health, which includes the state's flagship hospital, OU Health University of Medical Center and the state's only children's hospital, Oklahoma Children's Hospital OU Health.
Our mission is to train the next generation of hematologists oncologists in a program that encompasses cutting edge clinical oncology, hematology and cellular therapy. Our fellows benefit not only from an academic clinical faculty of more than 20, but also from the rich translational environment that includes basic scientists in the Stephenson Cancer Center and our robust clinical trial program. Our trials program is first in the nation in accrual to cooperative group oncology LAPS trials and in the top 10 in accruals to phase 1 studies. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue a masters in clinical translational research as a part of the fellowship, providing additional exposure to statistics, epidemiology and clinical trial design. Designated mentors and a research committee will assist fellows in developing a suitable research project(s) and will help the trainee focus on specific areas of clinical interest.
