Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology

Faculty

The Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology section provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate gynecology care for patients from birth to young adulthood. ACOG recommends the first gynecologic health visit occur between ages 13-15, and we aim to provide a calm and caring setting for our young patients while easing the fear and anxiety that can occur with gynecology care. Our surgical care is focused on minimally invasive and fertility-sparing methods. We also provide specialized care for adult women with complex medical issues or developmental delay, as well as surgical treatment of congenital anomalies of the reproductive tract for women of any age. Our team includes Dr. Lisa Moon, who is the only fellowship trained pediatric and adolescent gynecologist in the state.

We provide care for a broad range of issues, including:

  • Pre-pubertal gynecologic concerns
  • Pubertal concerns such as early or delayed puberty, delayed menses
  • Menstrual issues including heavy, painful, or irregular periods
  • Gynecologic care for girls with complex medical conditions, developmental delay, or autism
  • Chronic pelvic pain including endometriosis
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
  • Surgical management of congenital anomalies of the reproductive system
  • Minimally invasive and fertility-sparing surgery for ovarian cysts and other pelvic masses
  • Birth control including implants and intrauterine devices (IUDs)
  • Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections
