The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine was established in 1910. Since then, the Department has had a long tradition of training excellent otolaryngologists who have gone into private practice and academic practice throughout the country.
About the Department
The mission of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is to advance our understanding of disease and to improve treatment in the disciplines of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Audiology, and Speech Pathology.
As an academic department we seek to accomplish this mission by:
- Teaching residents, providing an environment in which every one of them can achieve his or her maximum potential.
- Teaching medical students and graduate students fundamentals in Otolaryngology, Audiology, and Speech Pathology.
- Providing care to patients in an exemplary manner, thus setting high standards of care to be emulated by trainees and enabling us to learn through the daily practice of medicine.
- Advancing our discipline via basic science, translational, and clinical research.
