Research

Research in the Department of Cell Biology spans the molecular, cellular, and systems-level mechanisms that regulate health and disease. Our faculty lead innovative, interdisciplinary programs that explore how cells communicate, respond to their environment, and coordinate complex biological functions across tissues and organ systems.

Organized around four highly interconnected research themes Cell Signaling, Ciliary Biology, Vision Research, and Neuroscience our investigators use cutting-edge technologies and diverse model systems to uncover fundamental biological principles and develop new insights into human disease. Through collaboration, innovation, and scientific discovery, we are advancing biomedical knowledge while training the next generation of researchers and educators.
