Clinical/Research Interests:
Dr. Robbins’s clinical and research interests center on the developmental physiology of the preterm lung, with particular attention to optimizing respiratory support strategies for infants at risk of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
She is the director of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital’s (OCH) multidisciplinary BREATHE SOONER* BPD Care Program, where she collaborates with pulmonology, cardiology, complex care, nursing, developmental therapy nutrition, and respiratory therapy colleagues to develop individualized care pathways for infants with evolving or established chronic lung disease. Her work emphasizes coordinated, longitudinal care that extends from the NICU through outpatient transitions, aiming to improve both short-term respiratory outcomes and long-term developmental trajectories. She is the site leader for OCH’s membership in the international BPD Collaborative and participates in the Children’s Hospital Neonatal Consortium’s severe BPD interest group.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Robbins is deeply committed to mentorship and academic development. She serves as a faculty advisor for junior faculty, helping colleagues navigate career planning, scholarly productivity, and academic promotion. As Associate Program Director for Scholarly Activity, she also plays an active role in fellow education, mentoring trainees in professional development and goal setting, research design, and grant writing as they develop into independent investigators.
She remains dedicated to advancing neonatal respiratory care through clinical innovation, collaborative practice, and the development of the next generation of physician-scientists.
