The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is the largest department in the OU College of Medicine, home to more than 700 faculty, staff, and trainees across 17 pediatric specialty divisions. We are committed to advancing the health of infants, children, adolescents, young adults, and families through high-quality, innovative medical care, research, education, training, and advocacy.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the scholarly delivery of clinical care, the teaching of the next generation of physicians, and the development of applied and basic knowledge through research, work made possible by incredible support from the University, the College of Medicine, OU Health, and local philanthropy. Our longtime partner, the Children's Health Foundation, has invested in this mission for 40 years, advancing vital research and education and establishing more than 35 Endowed Chair positions.
Over the last five years, the Department has grown across every part of its scope. Research output has accelerated, earning a Top 50 national ranking in NIH funding. Our medical student, resident, and fellow programs continue to expand as we launch new training opportunities. Advocacy and community engagement remain central to our mission. Oklahoma Children's, as part of OU Health, continues to grow in both patient volume and quality of care, including a new world-class behavioral health facility opening this fall, and early planning underway for a children's hospital expansion featuring a dedicated Children's Cardiac Tower.
