Oklahoma Children’s Hospital is the state’s premier academic children’s hospital and a leading referral center for pediatric specialty and subspecialty care. Located on the OU Health Campus in Oklahoma City, the 348-bed hospital serves children and families across Oklahoma and the surrounding region. As Oklahoma’s only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, Oklahoma Children’s provides the highest level of specialized care for ill and injured children.
The hospital includes more than 100 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds, a 25-bed cardiac intensive care unit (CICU), a 34-bed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), and dedicated pediatric emergency, surgical, dialysis, and imaging services. Each year, the hospital provides care through approximately 50,000 emergency department visits, 17,000 inpatient admissions, and more than 8,000 surgical procedures.
Oklahoma Children’s is experiencing significant growth through major capital expansion projects that will increase capacity to more than 500 beds in the coming years. The Oklahoma Children’s Behavioral Health Center, scheduled to open in December 2026, will provide 72 inpatient beds dedicated to pediatric mental and behavioral health care and will serve as a vital regional resource. The Oklahoma Children’s Pediatric Heart Center, anticipated to open in 2030, will bring ambulatory, surgical, and inpatient cardiac services together in a single, state-of-the-art facility, allowing for the continued expansion of pediatric services throughout the hospital.
In addition to providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, Oklahoma Children’s serves as a statewide pediatric consultation resource. Its specialists collaborate with hospitals, emergency departments, and clinics across Oklahoma to support complex patient care and expand access to pediatric expertise throughout the state.
