Kathy Thompson, MD

Kathy J. Thompson, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Reynolds Section of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is a board-certified geriatrician and family medicine physician who focuses on outpatient care in the office and skilled nursing setting as well as teaching medical students, residents and fellows.  Her clinical focus is in chronic disease management, healthy aging, fall prevention, polypharmacy and dementia care with the goal keeping patients healthy and independent for as long as possible.  She completed her undergraduate degree in chemistry at Southern Illinois Edwardsville, a master’s degree at the University of Central Florida and her medical degree with Ross University in Dominica.  She completed a family medicine residency at Piedmont Columbus Regional in Georgia and then went on to complete a geriatric fellowship with Advent Health in Winter Park, Florida.
