Sarah grew up in the military and while she enjoyed living on both the East and West Coasts, she considers Gig Harbor, Washington to be home. Sarah graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Physiology and Developmental Biology, a minor in Music, and four years of fun in the BYU marching band. It was during undergraduate that she met and married her husband, Dr. Riley Cox, a Pediatrics resident here at OU. Both then attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio Long School of Medicine and later Couples Matched to OU. Throughout medical school, Sarah was involved in school leadership, teaching, and mentoring, and also created a resource database for local families in need. She and Riley were blessed with the arrival of their son during their third year of medical school. Sarah keeps herself quite busy; in addition to motherhood, she enjoys oil painting, photography, flute, and piano.
