Suhair Maqusi, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. She is also the Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Residency. Having completed training in Plastic Surgery at University of Illinois, General Surgery at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and Hand and Microsurgery at the world-renowned Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, Dr. Maqusi has a very large practice.
Dr. Maqusi is triple-board certified. She is board-certified in Plastic Surgery, General Surgery and a certification of added qualification in Hand Surgery. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. She has been part of the OU team since October 2012. She served as the Acting Chief of Plastic Surgery Division at OU from 2015 through 2017 and Oklahoma City VA Health Care System from 2013 through 2016.
Dr. Maqusi is an active member of multiple surgical organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgery, American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and has served on multiple committees in these societies. She is actively involved in clinical research and is also the Program Director for the Plastic Surgery Residency Program and is actively involved in resident teaching and training.
Her clinical interests and areas of expertise include breast reconstruction after cancer removal, body contouring after weight loss surgery, "mommy makeovers," breast surgery (breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction), abdominoplasty, liposuction, facial aesthetic surgery (rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, facelift, brow lift, ear pinning), non-surgical facial rejuvenation, vaginal rejuvenation, hand surgery (nerve decompressions, nerve injury, tendon injury, bone fractures, congenital hand deformity, etc.), chest wall reconstruction after cancer removal and abdominal wall reconstruction, and excision of cutaneous malignancies and reconstruction after Mohs surgery.
