Tammy Yanovitch, MD, MHSc

Dr. Yanovitch is a clinical associate professor and pediatric ophthalmologist with special interests in amblyopia, eye muscle surgery, double vision, pediatric glaucoma, and children with special needs.

She received an M. Dewayne Andrews, MD Excellence in Teaching Award in Graduate Medical Education in 2019 and has also earned an American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Achievement Award and AAO Secretariat Award. In addition, Dr. Yanovitch has served on the AAO’s Subspecialty Day Planning Committee and as a member of the Item Writing Committee for the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). She is an ABO examiner, vice president of the Learning Disabilities Committee for the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS), and an editorial board member for AAPOS’ scientific journal.

Dr. Yanovitch is a magna cum laude / Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Tulsa and earned her medical degree (Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society) from the OU College of Medicine. She completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at DMEI/OU (receiving two Acers Resident Honor Awards) and her fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Duke University, where she also served on the faculty before joining the DMEI/OU faculty in 2011.
