Jess is a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, returning to her roots following years of military service. No stranger to multitasking, Jess graduated from Liberty University with a BS in Criminal Justice while serving as a United States Marine. As a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, she attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine. Jess gained invaluable training following medical school during her Transition Year internship at the Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. Throughout her medical education and training, she remained devoted to her community, volunteering with a local domestic violence shelter and engaging as both a participant and mentor in a highly competitive program that prepares Armed Forces members to apply for medical school. Jess also worked promoting wellness with Virginia Beach Adaptive Watersports, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing adaptive water sports activities for individuals with disabilities. A dedicated mom, Jess stays active in CrossFit and works to find time for her hobbies including quilting, a tradition passed down through generations of women in her family.
