Radiation Oncology
Alekhya Mitta, MBBS
Radiation Oncology Resident, PGY 3
My journey from Hyderabad, India to Oklahoma has been multifaceted, encompassing medical education, professional growth, and the joys of motherhood. I obtained my MBBS from Sri Ramachandra University in India. After moving to the USA, I worked as a patient safety officer at the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center in Houston, where my interest in Radiation Oncology deepened. Pursuing my passion further, I joined Master’s in Public Health from the Hudson College of Public Health in 2021, completed an internship in Internal Medicine at OU in 2023, and commenced my Radiation Oncology residency at Stephenson’s Cancer Center in July 2023. The mentorship I've received at OU has been invaluable, shaping my educational journey and contributing significantly to my growth as a healthcare professional.
Outside of medicine, I am a dedicated mother to two children and a Husky, finding fulfillment in nurturing compassion and empathy. My interests extend to family time, travel, home improvement, and gardening. With a passion for community service, a foundation in medicine, and a spirit of exploration, I am driven to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
