Rachel M Caywood, OD, FAAO, ABCMO

Dr. Rachel Caywood is a board-certified optometrist with more than 25 years of experience providing comprehensive eye care and managing complex ocular conditions. She currently serves as an optometrist at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City, where she provides advanced medical eye care and specialty contact lens services.

Dr. Caywood earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed a Family Practice Residency at Northeastern State University College of Optometry. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and holds board certification through the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry (ABCMO).

Her clinical interests include dry eye diagnosis and treatment, specialty and cosmetic contact lens fitting, medical optometry, glaucoma management, retinal disease, and comprehensive eye examinations. Throughout her career, she has cared for patients in private practice, academic settings, and the Veterans Affairs healthcare system, developing extensive expertise in both routine and complex eye care.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Caywood is an active educator, lecturer, and published author. She regularly teaches ophthalmology residents, contributes to continuing education programs for eye care professionals, and has authored publications in leading optometric journals.
