Ravi Pandit, MD, MPH

Ravi R. Pandit, MD, MPH is a fellowship-trained, board-certified surgical and medical retina specialist whose clinical, academic, and professional work focuses on medical and surgical management of ocular trauma and retinal disease.  He serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma / OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute.

Dr. Pandit graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh before earning his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, followed by fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Wills Eye Hospital. He also earned a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with certification in Health Management and Public Health Informatics.

Prior to joining the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Pandit served on the faculty of the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, Associate Director of Ocular Trauma, and Assistant Chief of Service. He currently serves as National Disaster Chair of the American Society of Ophthalmic Trauma and as a member of the Credentials Committee for the American Society of Retina Specialists.

Dr. Pandit has received multiple honors recognizing excellence in clinical care, research, and medical education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and educational articles in ophthalmology. His scholarly work bridges surgical and medical retina, public health, and health systems research, with research spanning ocular trauma, ophthalmic imaging, clinical informatics, physician workforce analysis, and strategies to improve access to high-quality retinal care.
