Shruti Mony, M.D, is an Assistant Professor in the Section of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition, Department of Medicine, University of Oklahoma. Specializing in therapeutic endoscopy, Dr. Mony is an expert in advanced and innovative endoscopic techniques, including ERCP, endoscopic mucosal resections, cryotherapy and interventional EUS, including the use of EUS to facilitate ERCP. She has a focused interest in medical education. She is helping to build a curriculum for the Internal Medicine residents and mentoring trainees interested in gastroenterology as a career. She is passionate about promoting the growth of women in the field of medicine and serves as an active member of the Women in Endoscopy committee. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Foregut society.  

Dr. Mony is also establishing a EndoHepatology program at OU Health which involves the integration endoscopic procedures within the practice of hepatology. These include but is not limited to EUS guided liver biopsies, portal pressure measurements, sheer wave elastography, variceal management and post- liver transplant complications.

Dr. Mony completed her medical school at the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. She completed her internal medicine residency at Creighton University/St. Joseph’s Hospital, Arizona followed by gastroenterology fellowship at the University of South Florida. She pursued additional training in interventional endoscopy that was completed the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Mony is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

In addition to clinical work, Dr. Mony is actively involved in research. Her research focuses on clinical outcomes in interventional endoscopy. Dr. Mony as received several national awards for clinical and teaching excellence including the Arnold P Golden Humanism and excellence in teaching award.
