University of Oklahoma College of Medicine Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship Mission
Our mission for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine's Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship program is to train the next generation of leaders in the field of neonatology by seamlessly integrating discovery and application of new knowledge with structured mentorship. We aim to provide a collaborative environment that fosters training of fellows in broad disciplines such as clinical care, education, translational and basic research, and quality improvement. Specifically, our objective is to train our graduates for an independent and successful career in all practice settings. To that end, they will develop expertise in providing evidence-based care to all babies. We are also committed to providing opportunities for scholarly pursuits and exposing our trainees to the unique resources that exist at OU in quality improvement and global health. We strive to augment our curriculum with experiences and electives that foster the unique interests of each fellow, while serving a diverse patient population. Our mission is enhanced by our strong emphasis on wellness, interdisciplinary collaboration, social and intellectual diversity, commitment to lifelong self-learning, and professionalism, teamwork and collegiality.
