Curriculum

Our clinical curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in the care of hospitalized children while remaining flexible to meet the individualized career goals and interests of each fellow.

Clinical Sites

Oklahoma Children's Hospital
Oklahoma Children's Hospital is a comprehensive tertiary children's hospital with 348 beds. Here, fellows will be responsible for the care of the full spectrum of pediatric patients. This will include patients with common single diagnoses to patients with complex chronic disease and significant medical complexity. Fellows will also gain experience with surgical comanagement, newborn care, palliative care, intensive care, and procedural sedation.

Norman Regional Healthplex
We are excited to offer a community inpatient experience only 17 miles from the OKC metro. Norman Regional Healthplex is a community hospital that has 400 pediatric admissions per year on average. Patients are typically lower acuity/lower complexity patients. During their time there, fellows will be supervised by one of two board certified pediatric hospitalists. The fellow will serve as the primary contact for referring emergency departments and primary care offices. They will care for general pediatric patients and provide consult services.

Bethany Children’s Health Center
Bethany Children’s Health Center is an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. The private, non-profit hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for children and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. Bethany Children’s Health Center offers a unique opportunity for our fellows to care for complex patients in a complex care unit, transitional care unit, and neurorehabilitation unit. Bethany Children’s Health Center has on staff pediatric hospitalists, physiatrists, neurologists, and psychiatrists as well as other subspecialists available for consultation services.
