The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine is proud to honor extraordinary leaders whose careers have made a lasting impact on medicine, education, research, and service through the OU College of Medicine Hall of Fame Awards.

Presented annually, these prestigious awards recognize individuals whose professional achievements, leadership, and character reflect the highest standards of excellence and bring honor to the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Award recipients are celebrated each fall at the Evening of Excellence during the College’s Alumni and Friends event.

Hall of Fame Awards

The College of Medicine Hall of Fame Awards recognize distinguished individuals whose careers demonstrate exceptional accomplishments in one or more of the following areas:

  • Academic medicine
  • Clinical practice
  • Medical research
  • Service to patients, students, and communities

Honorees exemplify professionalism, leadership, and a deep commitment to advancing medicine and improving lives.

Award Details

  • Up to three individuals are honored annually
  • A minimum of two recipients must be alumni of the OU College of Medicine
  • Each individual may receive this award only once in their lifetime
  • Previous recipients of the Evening of Excellence Dean’s Distinguished Service Award are not eligible, as they are considered grandfathered into the Hall of Fame

Distinguished Community Service Award

The Distinguished Community Service Award honors an exceptional non-alumnus whose visionary leadership and sustained support have significantly advanced the mission of the OU College of Medicine, the OU Health Sciences Center, or the health and well-being of the broader community.

This award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment as business or community leaders while meaningfully supporting the goals and growth of the College of Medicine.

How to Nominate

To nominate an individual:

  • Complete the Nomination Form
  • Submit all required supporting materials as outlined in the form
    • CV or Resumed
    • 1-2 letters of support
