Laura Shamblin, M.D. is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Section of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a degree in Biology and received her MD from University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. She completed a residency in Pediatrics at OU Health Children’s Hospital in 2008. She has a background in providing primary care for children with complex health needs, both inpatient and outpatient. Dr. Shamblin is currently a fellowship-trained pediatric specialist at the OU Health Child Study Center, specializing in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. She is the Resident Education Director for Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics while seeing patients in clinic for a variety of concerns, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Learning Difficulties, and developmental and behavioral concerns related to early childhood trauma/neglect, genetic, and neurologic conditions. Dr. Shamblin has completed additional training in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities (OKLEND) and the Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Ause and Neglect. In addition, she is completing a Master of Health Administration and Policy at the OU College of Public Health with an interest in improving health systems and public services for children with behavioral health needs.
