Thank you for your interest in the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program at the University of Oklahoma. HPM fellowship education is targeted to teach the delivery of excellent palliative care to children and adults in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Educating Fellows in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary care model is our ultimate goal, so that our graduates are prepared to practice in ambulatory or hospital medicine or sub specialty career with a solid base of knowledge. Although our graduates will practice all over the United States and internationally, our aim is to train excellent clinicians for Oklahoma.
Our program was established in 2013 through a partnership between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. It is now embedded in the Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine within the Department of Medicine. Our training is divided among three hospitals all located within a four-block radius, and all connected via skywalks. The hospitals include OU Health, Oklahoma Children’s Hospital, and the Oklahoma City VA Health Care system. We currently accept two fellows annually. We have great facilities at the University of Oklahoma, and our faculty are the best of the best when it comes down to educators, clinicians and scholars.
