Robert Weinschenk, MD

Robert Weinschenk, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic oncologist and assistant professor of Orthopedic Surgery at OU Health in Oklahoma City, where he specializes in musculoskeletal oncology as part of the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

His clinical practice centers on the care of benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors in both pediatric and adult patients, including sarcoma, metastatic bone disease, and complex reconstruction. He is an active member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and routinely serves as a peer-reviewer for multiple well-established orthopedic journals. Dr. Weinschenk has also contributed to several book chapters in orthopedic oncology and has been invited to present at local and national conferences on topics including bone sarcoma, metastatic disease, soft tissue tumors and 3D printing in orthopedics.

A key area of his academic interest is the integration of 3D printing into both research and clinical care. His work explores how 3D-printed models can enhance patient and resident education, support surgical planning, and improve biomechanical research—particularly for understanding bone tumors.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Weinschenk enjoys hiking, fishing, baseball, playing jazz saxophone, and spending time with his wife, son and dog.
