Andrea Wismann, MD
Geriatric Medicine Fellow
Dr. Andrea Wismann pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder in Biology and Biochemistry, and then worked in science and health curriculum development with the Howard Hughes Biological Sciences Initiative. After a couple years of teaching, she explored international mission work in Guatemala and Ecuador. Over the next 5 years, she completed a Masters in Science of Public Health, with a community and environmental health focus with the CDC's Rocky Mountain Prevention Research Center, and later research with the Pew Research Foundation.
Following a strong desire to care for individuals and their family, Dr. Wismann pursued medical training at the CU School of Medicine in 2009, and a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Colorado. For the past 10 years she has loved providing broad spectrum medical care in rural Colorado, covering ER, in-patient, clinic, nursing homes and dementia care units.
She moved to Oklahoma with her husband and elementary-school age boys, and is enjoying being back in academic medicine and pursuing specialized training in the field of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Oklahoma. “
