Located in Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, the Department of Pediatrics is a multifaceted department comprised of 16 sections and 200+ faculty members with commitment to serving and protecting the well-being of the state’s children, as well as providing a quality education to trainees. The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center has 314 inpatient beds and is the only freestanding tertiary care pediatric hospital in Oklahoma solely dedicated to the treatment of children. We work closely with several research institutions, such as the Children's Hospital Foundation and the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, to support the advancement of research in childhood disease. The OUHSC campus includes seven colleges and seventeen other institutions and serves as the state's principal education and research facility for physicians, dentists, nurses, bio-medical scientists, pharmacists, public health administrators, and a wide range of allied health professionals. OU Medicine has just completed a major transformation and is now an Oklahoma-owned and operated non-profit. Our new ownership structure fulfills a longtime goal to further advance the state's premier academic health system, elevating patient care, clinical research and the education of health professionals.
