Wellness Initiatives & Resources

National recognition of the problem of clinician burnout has stimulated the development of several high level programs and resources designed to disseminate information on burnout, promote strategies to combat the problem, and enhance wellness and resilience in clinicians. A wellness committee will collaborate with Faculty Affairs to support efforts to communicate effective interventions, disseminate well-being metrics, and champion a culture of well-being across the College of Medicine’s Clinical and Basic Science departments.

Well-Being Index

In 2019, the OU College of Medicine launched the Well-Being Index, an online self-assessment tool that measures stress in just nine questions. Individuals who complete the self-assessment receive immediate, confidential feedback on their overall well-being as compared to peers, and access to targeted resources aligned to the risk dimensions. De-identified data gathered from the Index provide important metrics for the institution and allow for assessment of our effectiveness in addressing these issues.

With the Well-Being Index you’ll be able to:

  • Assess your current level of well-being.
  • See how your well-being compares to other physicians.
  • Track changes in your well-being over time.
  • Gain access to resources to promote your well-being and address a variety of concerns.

Send an email to Dr. Sheila Crow to receive information on how to create an account. You can re-take the Well-Being Index multiple times per year to track your score over time. Once you've created your account, login at any time via this link to review your results or re-take your assessment.
