Residency Program Overview

    The OU neurology residency was founded in 1972As of 2024, the program is approved for 32 positions, eight each year, postgraduate year (PGY) 1 through PGY 4. The OU Department of Neurology and its faculty members are dedicated to the education, growth, and career guidance of its residents.  In 2008, the department underwent a complete revision of the residency curriculum based on the ACGME Neurology Residency Review Committee (RRC) program requirements, the six ACGME competencies, and the learning objectives for neurologists published by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. The result is a comprehensive, competency-based curriculum that blends an extensive and innovative didactic curriculum with equally extensive and varied clinical experiences.

    The goals of the OU neurology residency program are:
